Hermanus - 2023-09-16

Extreme weather in the Cape this year, all over reports of very high seas
Wind blowing like mad, waves crashing against the cliffs and rough sea conditions
But, the whales are doing what whales normally do, I suspect they are quite well adapted for any weather conditions and what we see as abnormal, well, it's all normal for them
Gearings Point was the preferred lookout point today as it is quite high and protected from the sea
All round, the waves were pounding the cliffs
The whales were giving a show that were much appreciated by the people from the cliffs

Hermanus - 2023-09-15

Extreme weather conditions prevailing, heavy wind, rough sea and occasional rain
As if it is winter all over again
Went to the cliffs late afternoon and knew, today there won't be any whales visible from the cliffs
First stop, Sievers Punt and as thought, no whales
Then stopped at Roman Rock and with a lot of patience and luck, spotted mother and calf, seemingly no issue with the weather conditions
